One For Sorrow

This is just a silly little rhyme that popped into my head the other day when I really did see a magpie in the garden!

It's based on the old, traditional saying/nursery rhyme regarding the suspicion surrounding magpies ...


"One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for a girl,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret,
Never to be told;
Eight's a wish,
Nine's a kiss,
And Ten is a bird
You must not miss ..."
