Nothing in life lasts
Kids grow up, people change
So many feelings alter
And everything seems strange

The familiar secure blanket,
Which then twists within warm hands,
Begins slipping through our fingers
Alongside time’s softly shifting sands

But if we all stood steadfast still
Then the journey wouldn’t last
As things just must move onwards
Preserving bottled memories of the past

As I read this I remember summers at my sisters home. And now when I go there its empty. every thing is different. our tree is gone that we all sat under and just talked. The road seems lonesome. And I still expect to see my friend walking down the road toward me. Or to hear his voice floating on the air. I miss it all and would like to go back and live it over. I was so content and happy. Yes we are still friends but do not get to see each other much.
